Moving our Forum provider from bbPress to Asgaros
Why?
- We were hoping that the bbPress plugin would resemble the old MyBB Forum before the site migration to WordPress.
- This turned out to be wrong, as the plugin did not feel like a complete product and it was hard to maintain.
- We were also having difficulty allowing certain users to edit/detele posts.
- Our forum data was able to be imported seamlessly, ensuring that no content would be lost in the process.
What’s Different?
- Asgaros provides a rich editor with serveral features built-in, so you can embed images, use spoiler tags, and much more!
- Forum topics, threads, and posts can be edited easier now, even adding the ability for you to close a thread once you see fit.
- You now also have the ability to subscribe so you can easily bookmark topics and threads and navigate to them with the forum menu.
- You have the ability to see your profile as well, and in the future we are going to add badges and rank icons that you can customize your profile with.
